During our History lessons this term we are focusing on Anglo Saxons and during this afternoon Rowan, Hazel and Oak worked through a carousel of activities including preparing and making broth with fresh vegetables which the Saxons would eat to sustain their energy to work on the farms ploughing and growing the crops of the wheat and barley. Some made jewellery from coloured clay which represented the clips and brooches worn to keep clothes together. Shields were recreated from painted circles to protect the Anglo – Saxon warriors bodies as they sailed across the North Sea in their wooden ships.
