Pupil voice
Today some of the Pupil Voice group met with Chartwells to discuss the summer lunch menu at school and took part in taste testing new recipes as well as making suggestions on how to improve future meal plans. Fantastic work!
Head people
Eight of our fantastic Year 11 pupils presented to all of secondary and Year 6 this morning during the head pupils’ assembly. 11L Land based Studies
11L have completed some great work in Land Based Studies. We helped to maintain the tools by making sure they where clean. We have also planted leeks and flowers.
Year 11 Art
In Art we have been looking at tonal drawings, we created some in preparation for out Art exam.
PTA Christmas event
11L have had a lovely morning at our school’s PTA event, we have picked presents and balloons. We even got a hot chocolate and biscuits. Thank you!
Careers event
Thank you to all the parents and carers who came to our amazing careers event on Thursday for the Year 11 students. It was a fantastic atmosphere and one that the staff and students really enjoyed! 🤩
11L’s Science experiment
Today 11L did an experiment in Science. We wanted to find out which material would keep our tea hottest for the longest. We used our thermometers to keep checking the temperatures of the different cups.
Animal care
In animal care we have been creating dog and cat toys using upcycled materials. This is part of our enterprise project. We would really appreciate any donations of clothing, pillows/cushions or 500ml pop bottles.
Jubilee fun in 11M
Today we have celebrated the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee. We made our recycled artwork from a pair of jeans and named it “The Queen’s Jeans”.
New College Durham trip
Today some of the pupils in 11M and 11V had a visit to New College Durham. We had a lovely tour of the building and visited some of the different departments and classrooms, Charlotte even got to have a try of a 1927 piano! We found out a lot of helpful information about New College…
