As part of our work about Canada, P2 received a call from a very important person.
Simon Collier, Manager of Solutions and Standard at the University of Alberta, called so that we could interview him about life in Canada. Simon used to live in Ryton before his family emigrated to Canada when Simon was 19 years old.
Simon told us :
~ That the temperature ranges from 25 degrees C (similar to our warmest summer days) down to -25 degrees C (That’s colder than our freezer!).
~ It takes 8h to fly to where he lives,
~ There was a large fire a few years ago in the Rockies but it all the animals ran away.
~ His favourite Canadian food is Poutine, this is chips with cheese and gravy.
~ Children in Canada learn similar things to us.
~ Canada is 7h behind us time wise.
A Massive thank you to Simon for a getting up so early to speak to us.
