Hazel class have had a fantastic start to the new school year.
Pupils have settled back into school brilliantly.
We have worked together, introducing ourselves to our new friends, worked on turn taking and sharing.
We spoke about the adventures we had over the summer and our likes and dislikes.
Hazel class enjoyed Maths cookery with Mrs Buddin on Friday and made some yummy cupcakes.
We visited the different areas of our school and really enjoyed exploring in the outdoor learning area.
On Monday we introduced our topic for the term ‘Footprints from the past’ and in particular our focus on The Stone Age.
To introduce the topic we discussed what we thought the topic might be about. We then became hunter – gathers for the morning.
We explored the school hunting for resources we could use to create cave painting.
Hazel class managed to find berries, vegetables, leaves and mud.
We then went back to class and used pestle and mortars to mix our berries to create paints.
In the afternoon we spoke about how we know about events that happened so long ago.
Hazel class then became archaeologists digging for fossils and creating our own fossil prints.
Brilliant first week back Hazel class. Well done!
