As part of Mental Health Awareness week the focus was nature and the pupils in 80 have had the opportunity to participate in something that makes them happy and increases their self esteem to ensure they are happy. Mrs Devlin went through a range of activities and ideas of things they could do to increase their mental health such as going for a walk in the woods, bike ride, baking, gardening and exercise. We made bird feeders on pine cones and took them outside to hang on the tree beside the MUGA so they can see them at break times. we spent time listening to the sounds of nature and looked at the clouds to make objects or faces. Then they enjoyed choice time of their choice. Jason made himself a toastie has he wanted to increase his life skills and independence in the kitchen. Bobby helped water the class sunflowers that they have been growing as part of well being.
