Croft Community School – our local community
Our geographical catchment area is wide and includes Chester-le-Street, Consett, Stanley, Sacriston, with a few families even further afield than this.
The local community of Greencroft is a small village in North Durham. We are close to the villages of Catchgate and Annfield Plain and our nearest town is Stanley.
We have shops in the nearby villages, a supermarket at Annfield Plain, and there is a council depot nearby with a plant nursery, and recycling facility.
Where possible we try to promote our links with the local community – some of our KS4 pupils have work experience placements nearby, and we have good links with the local church whose Vicar is a regular visitor to school.
Our local Sport Centre is the Louisa in Stanley where we use the sports facilities and swimming pool regularly.

We have good partnerships with local schools, in particular with the Tanfield cluster of schools, and often work together to improve and develop local facilities for our pupils.

The local Children’s Centre and Sure Start is along the road at Catchgate Primary school.
