Wellbeing Wishes
As part of staff wellbeing, one member of staff came into work this morning with this waiting for her from her secret wellbeing buddy. It certainly made her Monday morning!

P4 attended an athletics competition at Consett Leisure Centre and I think you can tell by the smiles on their faces, had a lovely afternoon!
If you shop at Aldi, or you know anyone that does, please make sure you ask for the stickers at the till. We need to fill this poster with stickers to have the chance to win £20,000 for sports equipment. Even if we don’t win the money, they send resources for a full sticker chart!! Please get collecting and send them into school.
P10 enjoyed learning about evolution and adaptation. They used different tools (spoons, tweezers and a cocktail stick) to represent different beaks and
how birds could adapt to their environments in order to survive and get food.
To celebrate world mental health day a group of our primary and secondary students engaged in some active listening training by ‘time to change’ organisation. They focussed on developing their role in school as ambassadors for positive mental health and getting the message across that it’s ‘ok to talk’. This is our school pledge, promising to promote the time to change motto and being a school that supports positive mental health.
Lots of resources for parents can be found on the website

Yesterday, students from P4-P15 took part in a number of activities to promote positive mental health and wellbeing. These activities included mindfulness colouring, signing pledges to support positive mental health, sport, singing and art projects. As well as this we had a theatre company come and work with students in a number of workshops around mindfulness. The students and staff had a wonderful day and there was a lovely atmosphere in school with lots of happy faces! We even had a special guest singer…
P5 today have been learning about safety in science and have been using a bunsen burner. Some of our Year 11’s came to support as student teachers and became peer mentors helping our Year 7 students feel safe and learn! Amazing job well done!
In Maths, P4 learnt all about Roman numerals. We went outside and used sticks to make Roman numerals, making larger numbers made us really think and use our learnt skills.
One week into our election of head students we were asked to provide a idea of what the year 11 students wanted in a special area for them. Within a weeks time we were provided with the suitable request we had asked for. The new area is now in use with the foldable pool set and air hockey table.
Due to the fact I am out of school some mornings, Orhan and I have come to an agreement.
Orhan will deal with the participation of sports club in the morning, while I manage this blog.
Sports Club was made because of the crowded area in the computer club. As a result of this we have decided to request the participation of pupils in sporting activity during lunch break, the sport changes everyday and Orhan will visit the classes from a different starting point everyday to ensure everyone has the opportunity to participate.
