Fundraise and Recycle Limited is a north-east based family run company, that specialise in the recycling of unwanted and unloved clothing and goods for collection and redistribution. We have received a recycling bin, which is in our car park, to encourage our school community to recycle clothes, shoes, bags and belts whilst at the same time raising funds for our school. Each container holds approximately 200-250kg and could potentially raise £60-75 when it is full. All the good quality clothing received is re-sold, re-used or recycled helping lessen the impact of waste on the environment. Pupils will have the opportunity to ‘name the clothes bank’ in a competition which will be set next week in pastoral time, with the chance to win a cinema voucher for a family of 4, a selection of sweets for their class and they will get their name put on all the containers in the north east for the following 3 months. All donations of clothes, shoes, bags and belts welcome.
This week Hazel class are having a Geography week, focusing on the United Kingdom.
Today we explored the different landmarks of the UK, and using Clicker wrote sentences about what we had learnt.
The rest of the week we are going to be looking at the four countries that make up the UK in more detail.
We have also set ourselves a challenge as part of our Active 30 to walk the distance of the UK starting in Scotland and finishing in the south of England.
Today we managed 500 steps towards our 2,384,647 step challenge, we hope to complete the challenge by the end of the month.
Well done Hazel!
Hi Everyone
Massive thank you to Stanley ASDA who have dontated £1000 to Croft towards to cost of horticulural equipment. This is going to buy gardening equipment and other horticultural supplies to help support the delivery of land-based studies in school. Soon pupils will be starting to plant seeds and begin rennovation of the garden area in school. Thanks again ASDA!
Good afternoon everyone
Please see letter attached about some of the Covid updates we are reintroducing from Monday 8th November.
Hazel class has been set up to represent different parts of the United Kingdom ready for pupils returning to school on Monday.
We have a fun packed week talking about the different countries that make up the UK.
Making and trying different foods and researching the different countries.
There are different switches set up around the classroom with facts and sound effects on.
Have a lovely weekend Hazel, we are all excited for Monday!
We had a birthday in Maple class this week, so we decided to bake a cake.
We mixed up all the ingredients together which made a very slimy mixture, some of the smells were very yummy.
Once all the ingredients were mixed together we poured our chocolate mixture into cake tins. This was very sticky and messy. When we put the mixture into the cake tines we had some left in our mixing bowl and we might of had a sneaky taste. We loved the taste of the chocolate.
After the cake was cooked we brought it out of the oven and let it cool down. We decided we would use jam in the middle to keep the two cakes stuck together. We then mixed up our chocolate, syrup and caster sugar to make our chocolate topping.
Look how amazing our cake turned out. Everyone in Maple sang happy birthday and enjoyed some delicious chocolate cake for snack.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY
Hazel class enjoyed exploring different types of materials in Science today.
We spoke about their different properties, how they felt and what we thought they could be used for.
In the afternoon we then used different types of materials to print in art.
Well done Hazel class.
