Year 7 student cooking with the tasty meal box ingredients
Clayton, our year 7 student, couldn’t wait to get home and try cooking with ingredients from his tasty meal box! Last night he made pasta for the family, then showed them how he made pizza toast in our cookery lesson.
Well done Clayton, we’re very proud of you, keep cooking!

Beech visit the Hancock Museum
Beech class visited the Hancock Museum in Newcastle. We looked at lots of the animals and dinosaurs, then went on to learn about ancient Greece. We were lucky enough to try on some of the soldiers’ uniforms!
Even Mrs Howard got in on the action and got dressed up!
Grantham Climate Art Prize 2021
Pupils learnt about our native endangered species as part of their Art lessons today in Key stage 3. They all began designing a mural for the Grantham Climate Art Prize in conjunction with the UN Climate Change Conference in Glasgow this November. Some amazing drawings already ahead of the deadline.
PECS in the Curriculum
Hazel class use PECS in lots of different ways.
In English we were commenting on what we could see in the book.
In Maths we were working on our counting and number recognition skills as well as shape and colour.
Maple Outdoor Learning
Maple Class have been exploring outside, looking at different types of leaves and their different colours of leaves. We have also looked at the beautiful flowers that have been growing in our outside area. We have been collecting leaves/sticks and plants that we have liked and used these to decorate our woodland crowns and to create hedgehog pictures. Maple class love being explorers and having fun outside!

Sponsorship wanted!
Morning Everyone
We have been invited to take part in a football festival at Spennymoor football club on the 6th October and we would love to be able to send our pupils in a sparkly new football strip rather than having to wear their PE kit or bibs as we don’t have one. If any parents or carers know or anyone or a company who would be willing to provide sponsorship for the strips we would really appreciate it. If they could get in touch with school via the Facebook page, the website or by contacting school directly we would be so grateful.
Pupil voice meeting
Today the pupil voice group met to discuss: pupil voice surveys, behaviours and consequences, enrichment programs for primary and secondary, head people and PE uniform. Some fantastic ideas that we can’t wait to implement! Well done everyone!
