Today classes went up to the BSU to vote for the students they would like the represent the school as Head People. Beech and Birch also joined us from primary to take part in the vote. A huge congratulations to Jack Hannah and Timur Ali who won the vote and will be Head People for the year!
We are beginning to look at Harvesting in Maple Class so all of our wonderful children sat at watched the story ‘The Little Red Hen.’ Maple loved this story so much they began to join in with the words!
Once we watched the story, we re-enacted the story with puppets to show if everyone understood the story and was able to identify where there was harvesting. Maple then got super messy and sticky to create our own fresh bread.
Look how amazing all of our chefs were! The bread turned out amazing and we have some very hungry pupils for snack time. Everyone had a try of their very own bread, it was very yummy!
Once we finished eating, Maple got creative and made our very own hens using a red hand print and coloured pencils. These turned out great!
Maple is very excited to keep learning about harvesting. We hope everyone enjoyed their fresh bread that our Pupils brought home.
Hazel class had a lovely day at the Hancock museum.
We have been learning about the stone age and this week focusing on prehistoric times.
Hazel class enjoyed exploring the different fossils.
In particular they enjoyed looking at the gigantic dinosaur skeleton.
We also had a look at the different animals ready for next week when we are going to look at prehistoric animals.
Hazel staff are super proud of their pupils and how well they represented the school today.

90 combined their knowledge of different types of poems along with nouns and adjectives linked to their English book ‘Butterfly Lion’. They recalled key words from the text and also chose words of their own to write limericks, acrostic, and narrative poems. Cameron wrote this beautiful acrostic poem entirely independently which blew us all away.
Clayton, our year 7 student, couldn’t wait to get home and try cooking with ingredients from his tasty meal box! Last night he made pasta for the family, then showed them how he made pizza toast in our cookery lesson.
Well done Clayton, we’re very proud of you, keep cooking!
All Students who attened Croft Summer School have been rewarded with tasty meal boxes to cook at home for a family of four, each of the boxes contains recipe card and all ingredietnts to make Tomato and Green Lentil Ragu and Bean Chilli.
Beech class visited the Hancock Museum in Newcastle. We looked at lots of the animals and dinosaurs, then went on to learn about ancient Greece. We were lucky enough to try on some of the soldiers’ uniforms! 
Even Mrs Howard got in on the action and got dressed up!
Pupils learnt about our native endangered species as part of their Art lessons today in Key stage 3. They all began designing a mural for the Grantham Climate Art Prize in conjunction with the UN Climate Change Conference in Glasgow this November. Some amazing drawings already ahead of the deadline.
