Evening Everyone
I hope you all have had some sort of relaxation over the weekend and had a chance to play in the snow!
As I’m sure you are the Government has been asking schools to start testing their Secondary pupils and staff. We have been looking at the safest and most effective way of introducing this testing regime into school for both our secondary staff and our secondary pupils. This week we have had 5 members of staff completing online training modules about how to carry out the testing for both pupils and staff. We are still working out the best way to do this but it is likely to involve pupils being tested in the gym and on a Friday and Monday. We will provide a leaflet about exactly how this is going to work later but in the meantime, I have attached a consent letter that you need to complete and return to school via the school email. This has also been sent out to parents and carers directly to their emails. There is also a leaflet, school handbook and posters attached to this blog that we have been asked to share with you all by the Government which provides more information.I just want to stress that without this consent being given we will NOT be testing any pupils. If, on the day of the test pupils become distressed and will not participate we will not be testing them. We fully understand that for you and for our pupils this could be a very stressful experience and we will do whatever we can to ensure that the process takes place as smoothly as possible.
Should you have any questions about this please don’t hesitate to contact school or discuss with staff during welfare calls.
There is also this link to look at for more information. https://dfemedia.blog.gov.uk/2020/12/15/mass-testing-in-schools-your-questions-answered/
If you do not want your child to be tested could you complete this form please and send it to the school email address but again if you do not return the consent form we will not be testing your child.

Evening Everyone
I have attached a Remote learning pupil friendly version to this blog which explains about the safe use of the internet and engagement in remote learning. By logging in lessons using either Teams or Class Dojo you and your child are agreeing to these terms. If you require any more information please don’t hesitate to get in touch with school either by phone or the school email.
Morning Everyone
You may have seen lots of stories in the news about access to remote learning- devices, access to wifi and data. I have a attached a link below with more information about this and you will see that this has to be done through school. If you think you may qualifiy for this support from Government could you please let school know via the school email and we can attempt to facilitate this. As part of this we also need to send you a privacy agreement which can be found on the second link.

Well done to all who have engaged in remote learning this week. It has been a week of uncertainty and a lot of trial and error. I am so proud of all my students for all their hard work – well done. Well done 8H, in particular Steph, who worked really hard during enrichment and we created an I have a dream speech and I would like to share her ideas attached below…
Morning Everyone.
School is closed to everyone today due to the weather. The driveway is incredibly ice as are all the roads around school. It is too dangerous for taxis and minibuses to come down the driveway. Pupils who were in school can join in with their remote learning from home. They can join all lessons that are available via TEAMS and by Class Dojo.
Afternoon Everyone
Following the Government announcement yesterday about FSM, Croft, as a Taylor Shaw school we will be providing a weekly food hamper to all of our pupils who are on Free School Meals. These have to be ordered weekly and can be collected from Croft or from other Taylor Shaw schools that may be closer to your home address. If you would like to take up this offer please can you contact school via the school website or by the text messaging service. Once we have this information, we will let you know which school and which day you can collect the food hamper. The day of the week will hopefully be the same every week. We need to know this by 12.00 lunchtime Friday 8th January as Taylor Shaw need 48 hours to prepare them.
Should you require any more information please get in touch via the school, the messaging service or the school website.
