RRS Hazel Class

Hazel class spent time talking about their rights.

To support our understanding we placed the statements around the classroom next to examples.

Article 19: Pupils decided they wanted to stick the article next to the fire alarm in class.

Article 12: We placed this with the ‘Tell-Me Tree’ in class. In Hazel class we might draw pictures, write down or take photographs of things we are proud of or something that we are worried about, to then discuss with an adult or peer.

Article 13: Pupils wanted this next to the computers.

Article 31: This went next to the choice cupboard.

Article 28: We put this article on our working wall that has all of our wonderful work on.

Article 24: We decided to put a copy of this article on the hand washing station and on our snack box.

Article 29, 7 and 8: These articles went onto our targets/about me wall.

Article 39: Pupils stuck this to our classroom door above the switch that when pressed says :Open the door please”.

Article 30: We placed on our PECS books as they help us with our communication.

Hazel class loved PE today.

We were fire fighter bears saving the day.

We had to crawl under and along benches. We climbed up and over like fire fighters would with their ladders. We then jumped down after putting the fire out and crawled back to the start.

Hazel class enjoyed being fire fighter bears.

When we were finished we spoke about the importance of keeping the equipment clean for the next class.

Great work Hazel team!

Birch Home Learning

After finding ourselves needing to work from home for three days, that’s just what we did…work from home.
We couldn’t have been prouder of the way the children adapted (not to mention the parents and carers)

The work produced at home was amazing and even though we missed seeing everyone in person, it was great keeping in touch via Class Dojo, seeing photos, sending messages and talking on the phone to parents and carers.
Here is a flavour of what the children got up to…

Forest Friday Fun

What lovely afternoon was had by the children in Birch. Games were played and after a fire safety talk, a fire was lit and the children enjoyed toasting marshmallows. The marshmallows were delicious and it was good to be outside learning and having fun.

Morning Everyone
Hope your all well and I hope our Secondary pupils are enjoying the remote learning, I’ve joined some of the lessons and it’s great to see the learning that is taking place.

Primary staff are really pleased to see our pupils back in school yesterday and we have had a couple of visitors from the Federation in school helping out. Both have been extremely complimentary about the work they can see taking place.

There has been confusion about return to school as we were unsure when the 14 days started. It has been confirmed that the 1st day of isolation is the day after the last time your child was in contact with the member of staff.
The return to school dates for next week are below. We have been in touch with transport to arrange taxis commencing for these days.

9F to return on the 29th September
8R to return on the 30th September
9B to return on the 1st October

7G to return on 5th October
Year 11 to return on 5th October

Hazel class returns!

Hazel class are pleased to be back after a few days working from home.

We have had a busy day. This morning we enjoyed listening to our sensory story ‘Peace at last’ by Jill Murphy.

We then completed some sequencing work about the story.

After break we enjoyed some Maths work before PE in the sports hall where we role played being little fire fighter bears and had to move around the obstacle course to put the fire out.

Updates and Remote Learning

Evening Everyone

We are looking forward to welcoming some of our pupils back tomorrow, our Primary pupils, two of our Year Eight classes and some pupils in other year groups who were absent last week.

In terms of remote learning I know this has been a struggle for some pupils so I have attached a remote learning timetable to this blog. The blue boxes are when teachers will be delivering remote learning from school, the white boxes are when those teacher will be available to answer any questions that you or your child may have about the work. Either you or your children can contact staff via Teams for support during the lesson time. This is at the top of the timetable.

Hope this explains everything and thanks again for your support over the past few days, it is very much appreciated.

Updates

Afternoon Everyone

Just to let you know we are working out the transport arrangements for Primary Pupils, 8H and 8D to hopefully return to school on Thursday. We will also be making arrangements for transport for those pupils who were absent last week and were not in contact with the infected member of staff. Transport will be in touch with you later today or tomorrow with these arrangements.

Lots of curriculum work is available for your children on your child’s Teams account or for Primary pupils Class Dojo. Staff are available to be contacted to offer any support.

Finally, I was re-reading lots of your posts and comments last night and I just wanted to say a huge thank you for all your support. My wife is a Croft Community School follower and she commented on what a positive community spirit seems to exist between school and our parents and carers. All of us at school are hugely appreciative of that.
