This week, we launch our Wellbeing Club in Primary, which has been named by one student as The Care Bear Club.
Every Friday, selected children meet with Mrs Kennedy and Miss Lumley where we aim to promote wellbeing, resilience and trust in one another.
Our aim is that children will help initiate the sessions and plan/decide how the club will run, so they have ownership. This links to our RRS Article 12- Respect for the views of the child.
We aim to promote good mental health and resilience by providing a safe and friendly place to discuss a range of topics, whether it be worries and anxieties around home or school, low self-esteem etc. We will learn tools to and the importance of discussing emotions; how to talk to others, find positive solutions and find our own ways to self-regulate.
We will learn that it is important to share feelings with trusted people and also the importance of asking for help and support if needed, remembering that there is always someone who cares and someone who can help.
