During topic this term in Rowan class we are learning about Vikings. This afternoon we participated in a carousel of activities visiting others classes to complete them including reading and recognising our letters for our names. Writing our name out in Viking rune on a tomb stone then wiping a wet tea bag over to make it look old and tarnished. We used plasticine to mould and manipulate into the shape of a Viking boat and tested on water to see if it floated or sank. Jordan said “because we compressed the plasticine it made it more compact to hold the water”. The final activity was to make a Viking Trollen craft reel (similar to a hair braid) ensuring we only followed the odd numbers to make the pattern.
