On return to school 80 were welcomed with a fresh fruit and pancake breakfast and the opportunity to catch up with their friends. As it was World Book Day also the staff team linked them together with other subjects on the time table to engage in reading favourite stories and an activity linked to it. Miss Oliver read The tiny seed and then the pupils planted Sunflower seeds to represent this and asked questions about the moral of the story. Bobby said ” It doesn’t matter if you are the weak seed, you can still grow and succeed”. Mrs Devlin read her favourite The Tiger came to tea and all the pupils enjoyed a healthy afternoon tea and relaxed colouring mindfulness colouring sheets and activities. A first day back was relaxed and everyone had fun with not a computer screen in sight!
