Year 11 Design Technology pupils had a ‘preparing for adulthood’ challenge today. They had 2 sofas to construct from flat pack, the first one was full of learning curves, but they worked as a team and completed it within one and a half lessons. They were then feeling confident and completed the second sofa in only 15 minutes, learning from their mistakes, remembering how to overcome issues and working without any staff intervention. Then of course we couldn’t throw the boxes away, they got used for outdoor play.
